One reason for their failure is that they try to master everything at once. Today I want to show you how you can succeed with online marketing on the long run by taking mini-steps.
When starting out with internet marketing, you most likely don’t know where to begin. It seems like everybody is pointing you towards a different direction. “You need to do SEO” , “You need to build an email list” , “You need to setup a blog” , “You need to do social marketing”. Fact is, that you need to combine several strategies the right way to become successful online.
There is just one problem: You can’t set it up all at once.
When you are just starting out, you have limited time, limited knowledge, limited funds and limited patience. It’s impossible to understand and to set up everything quickly. The solution is to take mini-steps and to get a bit better every day. You should not try to get from zerto to hero within a month or two, this just won’t happen for the average person. Instead focus on building up your own blog in the first month and then in the second month you focus on setting up your own email list and squeeze pages and in the third month you focus on solo ads for example.
Internet marketing is about endurance and not acceleration
It might take a while before you start to see results, but if you improve yourself and your business just a bit every single day, then you will eventually make money online. It’s like with a dragster racer and a city car… when these two cars start for a 10-mile race, the dragster will be out of sight within seconds but it will run out of gas before it crosses the 10-mile line. The city car takes it’s time to accelerate but it will eventually pass the dragster racer that ran out of fuel at the 5-mile line.
I’m doing the same thing, although I’m not new to internet marketing I take one step at a time. In the last couple of days and weeks I’ve been concentrating on sending traffic from solo ads to my sales funnel. I don’t do SEO, PPC, joint ventures, integration marketing and other stuff until I’ve mastered solo ads and improved my sales funnel.
How to start internet marketing from home
I believe you should be focusing on blogging and listbuilding when you are just starting out with online marketing. Blogging is important to connect with people and to get them to know, like and trust you. Listbuilding is essential for your online success. Most sales will come from your follow-up or broadcast emails, that you send out through your autoresponder.
